Looking For Inspiration - Blog Post | S Godwin Studio

When I go out for a walk I always make sure I have my little camera with me to take photos of anything that looks interesting and keep the image for inspiration, it can be of anything such as the shape of leaves, a bird or insect or a pathway. In one of the images below I managed to take a photo of a ring necked parakeet also called a rose ringed parakeet, I always hear them up in the trees but can never seem to get a photo of them until recently camouflaged inbetween the leaves in a tree.
I keep a small sketchbook with me to note down some ideas I may have while I'm out and about, either a pocket sized sketchbook or small enough to fit inside a backpack. Carrying a heavy sketchbook around is not ideal as it would put too much strain on the hands which will make holding a pencil or pen difficult to use when wanting to do some drawing.
I also always bring some snacks and water to keep my energy levels up and not let myself get dehydrated when I'm walking about, I now set a timer for every half hour to remind myself to drink some water.
